Trailer Talk - Iron Man 3 (2013)

The first teaser trailer for Iron Man 3 just hit the web in the last day or two and from this first look at the film, it appears to be more of the same Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark goodness that we've come to expect from the first two films (and from The Avengers for that matter).  Iron Man may not be my favorite Marvel Comics character (that distinction belongs to Daredevil), but judging from the success of the franchise, there is no denying that he is the character that drives the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The trailer is absolutely packed with great looking action sequences, Stark's Extremis Armor (from Warren Ellis' run on the comic), Stark's Armory, Iron Patriot, and the first sights and sounds of Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin (a classic Iron Man villain who has been brought back to the forefront in Matt Fraction's current run on the comic)!

Iron Man 3 boasts an amazing cast, no different than the first two films in the franchise.  The aforementioned Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Paul Bettany (as the voice of Jarvis), and Jon Favreau join Downey, Jr this time around.  Due to creative differences, Favreau will no longer be directing the franchise, only retaining his role as Happy Hogan.  Shane Black (director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and writer of the Lethal Weapon movies) takes over directing duties on this installment of Tony Stark's adventures.

There's no doubt that as the May 3, 2013 release date gets closer, we'll get to see even more of what's to come.  But if you ask me, this is a pretty good start!

Review - Mama

Mama (2013), PG-13, 100 minutes - Jessica Chastain is ruling the box office right now, starring in the two top grossing movies in theaters this past week.  One is Zero Dark Thirty (for which she earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actress), and the other is this little horror film based right here in Virginia (it had a $15 million budget and made over $32 million over its first week). Mama begins in tragedy just after the beginning of the financial collapse in 2008, a man named Jeffrey (Nikolaj Costar-Waldau) murders a co-worker and his estranged wife before taking his two daughters (three year old Victoria and one year old Lilly) and fleeing town.  Driving too fast on snow covered roads, he loses control and they slide off the side of a mountain road and crash in the woods.  The three of them survive the wreck and come across an abandoned cabin after fleeing the scene.  Once he's started a fire, Jeffrey breaks down in another room.  After regaining some composure, he comes
