Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), PG-13, 1h 58min - Much like its predecessor  Ant-Man (2015) , Ant-Man and the Wasp is the rare MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) film that I wasn't counting down the days to.  That's not to say that I didn't want to see it, I just wasn't nearly as stoked for it as I usually am for a Marvel Studios release (especially coming on the heels of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War).  However, just like Ant-Man before it, I found this film to be one of the most fun MCU installments to date. Ant-Man (2015), PG-13, 117 minutes  - Prior to the last few weeks, I had been pretty happy with the consistency with which I had been adding content to the blog this year.  That pace has decreased significantly over that time, but I honestly can't be too disappointed as we've been consumed by other much more important things.  To those who check in regularly, my apologies for the recent lack of updates.  If it is any consolation, Jurassic World (my last update) was the last movie I saw prior to this one.  I hope that I can get back to some sort of regularity, and with a little luck, catch up on a few films that I have not yet seen this summer. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013), PG-13, 119 minutes - Over the years, Will Ferrell's off the wall, over the top style of comedy has proven very popular.  One of his most successful films was 2004's Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and it was only a matter of time before a sequel came to fruition.  After a couple of years of speculation and then this past year of teasers and trailers, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was finally unleashed on the public last weekend.  In my opinion, it lived up to expectations...for the most part. Anchorman 2 picks up after the events of The Legend of Ron Burgundy.  He and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) have gotten married and have a young son named Walter (Judah Nelson).  Veronica gets a very prestigious promotion at work becoming the first prime time female news anchor.  At the same time, Ron gets fired.  He's then asked to join a fledgling 24 hour news station as their late late night ...

This Is 40 (2012), R, 134 minutes - Judd Apatow's latest comedy is a 'sort of' sequel to 2007's  Knocked Up  according to the movie poster.  'Sort of' in that This Is 40 follows Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) who were supporting characters in in that film, but This Is 40 doesn't tie back to Knocked Up at all. This Is 40 takes a look at the life of a family whose parents have just turned 40 and are both feeling a bit of a mid-life crisis.  They are both having financial problems at work (Pete owns an independent record label and Debbie owns a small fashion boutique).  Pete has kept his end of the financial troubles a secret and the family is in danger of having to sell their house and downsize to make ends meet.  These troubles are just the tip of the iceberg.  As a result of turning 40 and not feeling as fulfilled or as accomplished as they had envisioned Pete and Debbie get increasingly frustrated with each other.  When they a...
