If you've followed this blog space at all over the last year and a half or so, you know that I've been a huge supporter of Charles Soule's recently completed Daredevil run.  The eighth and final trade paperback was released this past week, so now that it has been collected in its entirety I thought I'd try and do something fun in an effort to spread the love. Daredevil: Back in Black Vol. 7 - Mayor Murdock - Collecting Daredevil (1964) #601-605. Since Marvel has not yet seen fit to give Charles Soule's excellent, recently completed Daredevil run the oversize hardcover/omnibus treatment yet, I feel compelled to continue my series of reviews for the trade paperback collections (the previous entries can be found  here , here and here ).  Volume 7 just came out a couple weeks back and includes one of my favorite arcs from Soule's run: Mayor Murdock. I won't get into too many story specifics as the title of this volume itself is a bit of a spoiler for events from the end of Volume 6.  With Mayor Fisk incapacitated and The Hand descending upon New York, a little known order of succession change made by Fisk's predecessor puts the Mayor-ship of New York in the hands of Matt Murdock!  Can the Man Without Fear save his beloved city from one (or is that two?) of his fiercest enemies?  And can he do so without revealing...

Daredevil: Back in Black Vol. 6 - Mayor Fisk - Collecting Daredevil (1964) #595-600. I'm a big proponent of talking up material that you enjoy and not wasting energy on bad mouthing the stuff you don't.  With that in mind, here are a few quick thoughts I have on this book, the most recent collected volume of Charles Soule's criminally under rated ongoing run on Daredevil.  Those who follow this blog know that I have been pushing this run for months, so please bear with me and don't tune me out! Black Panther Oversize Hardcover Vol. 1: A Nation Under Our Feet - Collecting Black Panther (2016) #1-12. Earlier this year I went on a Black Panther reading binge in the weeks leading up to the release of the Marvel Studios  film.  One of the books I read during that time was this hardcover collection, which contains the first arc of Ta-Nehisi Coates' current, on-going run on the title.  I even teased the eventual completion of this review in my write up for the film.  I then proceeded to find myself distracted by a number of other things and hadn't gotten around to getting my thoughts down 'on paper' until now.  Let me assure you that my delay in getting this review together is no indication of this material's quality as it is excellent. Daredevil: Back in Black Vol. 5 - Supreme - Collecting Daredevil (2016) #21-28 After a delay of about a month and a half, the fifth trade paperback (TPB) collection of Charles Soule's Daredevil run was finally released last week.  This volume was originally solicited to include issues #21-25 (the "Supreme" arc) with a release date of mid-October, but thanks to Marvel's Legacy initiative (and the renumbering that came with it), they decided to push back the release so that they could also include issues #26-28 (the short "Land of the Blind" arc) as it effectively ends the 'All-New, All-Different' era of the title.  But don't worry, Soule leaves plenty to explore heading into the Legacy era of Daredevil.
